SHOW ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS
The Entry Form
1.Entry Deadline: The 2012 Entry Form, along with other requested entry materials, must be received by May 1st 2012. You can either deliver your entry form to Janie Merritt at the guild meeting or 1413 Wagonwheel Ct., Irving, TX 75061. If mailed the entry must arrive at Janie’s address by May 1st 2012.
2.Entries will be accepted on a space available basis. Entries received either after the limit is reached or after the deadline has passed will be returned to the sender.
3.Each entrant may submit no more than two entries in any one category. In the Judged category the quilt may not be older than five years and not a winner in our previous shows.
Each entry shall consist of:
•Completed Entry Form (including signatures and contact information).
•A Division/Category must be must be clearly indicated on the Entry Form. The Quilt Show Committee places entries based on the information you supply. Should you have any questions as to the placement of your quilt, please call 972-790-3134. It is your responsibility as the entrant to place it in its proper category. See Divisions and Categories for complete definitions. The show committee reserves the right to recategorize or reject any entry.

Preparation for Show
4.Each entry must have a fabric identification label sewn on the back of the quilt. NO PINS! The label should include your name and the name of the quilt.
5.Each quilt must have a 4” open end fabric sleeve attached at the top of back of the quilt. Miniature quilts may have a 2” sleeve. Quilts that are longer than 90” must have a second sleeve attached no more than 90” from the bottom edge of the quilt.
6.Each entry must be submitted in a fabric bag or pillow case. Fabric label including: Name, Address, Phone number, Quilt Name must be attached to the bag. ONLY ONE ITEM PER BAG, NO EXCEPTIONS.
7.All entries MUST remain on display for the duration of the show.
Drop Off/Pickup
8.Drop Off: Quilts will be accepted on Wednesday, June 6 at Holy Family, 2330 Cheyenne, Irving, TX 75062 between the hours of 6pm and 8pm.
9.Pick Up: Quilts will be available for pick up on Saturday, June 9 at Holy Family, 2330 Cheyenne, Irving, TX 75062 at 5:00pm. NO EXCEPTIONS. Quilts will not be released without proper paper work.
ENTRY DIVISIONS AND CATEGORIES
A Division/Category must be clearly indicated on your entry form.
DIVISIONS
We will be offering three different divisions for the 2012 show – Master, Artisan, and Open Divisions
You will qualify to enter your quilts in the Master Division if you answer yes to any one of the following:
1.You have won two or more blue ribbons in any judged competition, locally or nationally. Blue ribbons won in a Group Category do not count.
2.You have published a pattern or a book.
3.You have professionally taught quilting classes.
4.You have sold your work or profited from your quilting in any way.
You will qualify to enter your quilts in the Artisan Division if you have not met the criteria listed under the Master Division.
The Open Division may be entered by both Master and Artisan quilters.
The quilt show committee reserves the right to change the category of any entry as appropriate.
CATEGORIES
Master Division
201Large Pieced – A pieced quilt in which the length plus width totals 120” or more and is primarily patchwork; hand or machine quilted
202Small Quilt –A small quilt in which the length plus width is less than 120” and is primarily patchwork; hand or machine quilted
203 Applique – An appliqued quilt which the length plus width totals 48” or more and is primarily applique; hand or machine quilted
Artisan Division
101Large Pieced – A pieced quilt in which the length plus width totals 120” or more and is primarily patchwork; hand or machine quilted
102Small Quilt –A small quilt in which the length plus width is less than 120” and is primarily patchwork; hand or machine quilted
103 Applique – An appliqued quilt which the length plus width totals 48” or more and is primarily applique; hand or machine quilted
Open Division
301Theme Category – Any construction method but must denote the quilt show theme. The theme for 2012 is “Splish Splash”. May be constructed by one or more persons, either machine or hand quilted. Any size finished.
302Group/Friendship Quilts – A quilt made by a group of three or more persons
303Machine Embroidery – Predominately machine applique, machine or hand quilted
304Miscellaneous – Redwork, Crazy Quilts, Yo-Yo, Cathedral Windows, Whole Cloth, Tablerunners, Pillows, Items of Quilted Clothing, minitature quilts, etc. that does not fit into other categories.
310Non-Judged – Any quilt you do not want judged but would like to have hung and shown. These will be accepted as room allows.
